The Sojourner Truth
No minimums
“I will speak upon the ashes”
Sojourner Truth courageously escaped slavery in 1826, and went on to become a leading voice for abolition, African-American rights, and women’s rights. Sojourner traveled throughout the states and gave speeches with regards to her activism. When protesters threatened to burn down a hall in which she was supposed to give an upcoming speech, Sojourner replied, “Then I will speak upon the ashes.”
The Sojourner Truth heel was designed for those moments when we need the tenacity required to continue our progress. The fabric on the heel is like the pile of ashes that we all sometimes need to speak upon. The white leather was chosen because in many pictures Sojourner wore a white shawl. And the symbolism of the truth being black and white helped make the Sojourner Truth heel into the power shoe that we can all utilize.
How does it fit?
The Sojourner Truth runs true to size.
